Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries and a typescript of these items. The entries go from 16 June 1907 to 26 Sept. 1908. Flake writes about his experiences as a missionary for the Mormon Church. He spent most of his time as a missionary working in Illinois.

McArthur was born in New York State; joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint in 1832; lived in Kirtland, Ohio, in Missouri, and in Nauvoo, Illinois. McArthur stayed at Winter Quarters, Nebraska, migrated to Utah in 1848, experienced troubles with Ute Indians, and served on a mission to England for the LDS Church from 1852 to 1856. Scope and Contents Photocopies of microfilm copies of handwritten materials. The collection consists of a lengthy and a shortened version of an autobiography. Murdock wrote about his early life and his converstion to the Mormon Church in 1830. He followed that faith to Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; and Illinois. He migrated to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1847. He served on missions for the Mormon Church in New York and Australia.
