Brief history of Brigham Morris Young

Scope and Contents Typewritten biography of Brigham Morris Young. B. M. Young was a businessman who served two missions to Hawaii (1873-1875 and 1883) and helped organize the Young Men's Mutual Improvement Associations in numerous places for the Mormon Church. He married Armeda Snow who was the daughter of the fifth president of the Mormon Church, Lorenzo Snow (1814-1901).

Henry Aldous Dixon diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries. Dixon writes about his missionary activities in for the Mormon experience in England and South Africa. Dixon also tells about his work in the general tithing office of the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his work for the Provo Woolen Mills in Provo, Utah.

Hintze family papers

Scope and Contents Photocopies of typewritten autobiographies and biographies of Hintze. Also with the collection are photocopies of handwritten records of the Hintze family including genealogies and Mormon patriarchal blessings. The biographies of Hintze are by Evelyn Mackay Frandsen and A. J. Hansen.

Peter A. Nielsen diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries. The first diary covers the time that Nielsen was serving a mission for the Mormon Church in Denmark. Nielsens diaries cover most years until 1890 after which they cover every year until 1933. Nielsen records family and business matters in short entries. The diary for 1913 is missing.

Silas LeRoy Richards diary and family histories

Identifier: MSS 734
Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography and diary, family histories, genealogies, patriarchal blessings, and mementos. Much of the material relates to the history and genealogies of the Richards, Rhead (Reed), Stanley, and Huffman (Hoffman) families. Silas was born in Union and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He held several jobs and served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1902 to 1905.

Jacob Foutz Secrist diaries and correspondence

Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten correspondence, letters, and a patriarchal blessing. The materials were created when Secrist was serving on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany and Switzerland. The correspondents were his wife, Ann Eliza Logan Secrist, and other family members. Secrist writes about his missionary activities, and his wife and others tell about events in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Scope and Contents Contains journals and account books. Most journal entries were written while Sherwood was a missionary for the Mormon Church in Great Britain. Also included are a copy of "Ready References," "A compolation of Scripture Tests;" letters from Sherwood to family members; some handwritten statements made by Sherwood; legal and religious documents, and papers dealing with the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City and with Sherward Park, a subdivision development in Salt Lake.
