Thales Hastings Haskell diary

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary. Haskell writes about his experiences with various Indian tribes in Arizona when he was serving as a missionary for the Mormon Church. He was accompainied by Jacob Hamblin and others. Fifteen pages of the item are written in the Deseret Alphabet. Some of the manuscript pages have been torn off and one page is missing.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of typescript. Contains a short history of the Mormon Church's mission to the Navajo Indians in Arizona from 1876 to 1878 and the creation of the Little Colorado Stake. The history of the stake is then continued up to 1887. Includes history of the settlements making up the stake, activities of the members, minutes of meetings, and accounts of missionary work among the Indians.

Scope and Contents Typewritten copies of diaries, an autobiography, and a history. The diaries include an "Abridged History of the Salmon River Mission" which is Moore's journal for 1855 when he was serving in the mission. Also included are "Items of History" which tells about the early settlements in Weber County, Utah, and an autobiography to the year 1849 when Moore's diary begins.
