Frederick Cooke diary

Scope and Contents Typescripts of diary and an autobiography. In his 1881 diary, Evans describes his activities as a Mormon missionary in Wales. In his personal history, he writes about his conversion to the Mormon faith in Great Britain, his migration to Utah, and his experiences in Brigham City, Utah.

John A. Lewis diary

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Lewis wrote about his experience as a Mormon missionary in Wales. He told of his experiences while teaching, his hopes for the souls of Wales, his testimony of the truthfullness of the Mormon Church, his family members, his visits to his cousins, and the challenges of teaching. He visited Cardiff, Wales, where he was born, and he travelled to many other areas as well.

George Spilsbury autobiography

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography with a photocopy of the item. The volume includes handwritten copies of letters received and patriarchal blessings of family members. Spilsbury writes about travelling in southern Utah as a patriarch, gives a brief description of his mission to Wales, talks about some of the prophecies of the first president of the LDS Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), and describes the exodus west of Mormons from Nauvoo, Illinois to Utah. Dated from 1843 to 1911.
