Also includes a typewritten biography of Charles Edward Clissold, his oldest son, written by Lenora Pearl Clissold Vincent, Charles Edward's daughter, which tells of his early life, marriages, children, immigration to Utah, work, family life, acting experiences, and death.

Letter and newspaper clipping

Scope and Contents Two letters and one newspaper clipping. The clipping was published by the Itahca Journal News on 28 July 1962 and relates to the family of Brigham Young (1801-1877) and to the Salt Lake Theatre. One of the letters is from Dorothy Dye to Ernest L. Wilkinson, president of Brigham Young University, relating to the newspaper clipping. The other letter is from Wilkinson to the Brigham Young University Archives also regarding the clipping.

Philip Margetts papers

Scope and Contents Photocopies of diaries, newspaper clippings, play scripts, articles on Utah and LDS Church history, and correspondence. Margetts writes about his trip to Utah in 1850. His diary covers the time he served as a missionary for the LDS Church in Great Britain from 1857 to 1858. Many of the items relate to Margetts' career in the theater, to the Salt Lake Theater, and to drama in Utah. The mystic spell : a pantomime in seven scenes

Scope and Contents One handwritten script for the play "The Mystic Spell" by an unknown author believed to have been written in the 1880s. The script is not for a true "pantomime," since some of the parts involved speaking. The item was found in the ruins of the Salt Lake Theatre in Salt lake City when it was torn down.

George Reynolds letter to Brigham Young

Scope and Contents This collection was loaned by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Salt Lake City Museum, for a graduate student to read and study the materials for a Masters thesis. This loan was made on the agreement that the collection be microfilmed and a copy given to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. The collection has now been returned to its owner.
