Luigino Bardi family history

 Item — Folder: 1
Identifier: Vault MSS 491

Scope and Contents

History of the Bardi family. Among other things, it documents their feud with the Soderini family with which they were bitterly antagonistic for generations. These documents tell of an unsuccessful plot to kill Piero Soderini and other actions taken between these two rival families. The manuscript was written in a simple code that is a mix of Latin and Greek. The probable intention of this code was to make the material difficult to read and to confuse the Bardi's enemies.
