Karl G. Maeser Building cornerstone collection
Scope and Contents
Includes items dated 1887-1909 sealed in the cornerstone of the Karl G. Maeser building in 1909 and removed in 1975 as part of the University's centennial celebration. Items include articles of incorporation, songs, pennants, albums, pamphlets, directories, poetry, photo albums, scriptures and hymn book of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, copies of the Blue and White, and two articles by N.L. Nelson--Scientific Aspects of Mormonism, and, The Mormon Point of View.

Separated Materials
The following coins were transferred from the Maeser Cornerstone Box to the cornerstone box of the Harold B. Lee Library in April 1976 at the request of the university administration: 1884 silver dollar, 1889 half-dollar, 1898 quarter, 1905 dime, 1891 nickel, 1902 nickel, 1899 penny, 1902 penny, 1909 penny.
Certificates and diplomas from the following schools of BYU which were placed in the Collection of Brigham Young University certificates (UA 312): School of Agriculture certificate (blank); Preparatory School certificate (blank); Church Normal Training School certificate issued to Ernest Partridge, January 4, 1892; Kindergarten Normal certificate (blank); Normal School certificate (blank); High School certificate (blank); Brigham Young University certificate; School of Arts and Trades certificate.
The originals of the photograph and postcard photocopies (box 54 folder 1) were transferred to Photo Archives.
