Administrative History
The President's Council at Brigham Young University developed in the 1970s out of President Dallin H. Oaks' habit of inviting members of the administration to participate in his weekly meetings with his two policy-making vice presidents. The meeting became a regular part of university administration under President Jeffrey R. Holland. The President's Council holds meetings on a regular basis (several times a month) and is responsible for reviewing and approving all matters pertaining to the administration of Brigham Young University. Under President Holland the President's Council was also called the President's Business Meeting and the President's Planning Meeting.
