Biographical History

Rulon Dean Skinner (b. 1931) is a recreation professor in Utah.

Rulon Dean Skinner was born in 1931 in Graham, Arizona to Rulon Moroni Skinner and Violet Whipple. He became involved in the Boy Scout program as a youth, participating until he left to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Uruguay in 1950. He attended Eastern Arizona College, and after his mission studied at Brigham Young University.

In 1969, Skinner joined the Youth Leadership faculty at Brigham Young University. During his service, he earned his master's degree from the university in 1971. Skinner remained on the faculty until his retirement in 1996.
