The collection contains a typescript with annotations of Asahel Luther Fuller's first Southern States Mission journal, 14 February 1887 - 31 December 1887, and a typescript of his second Southern States Mission journal, 1 January 1888 - 19 February 1888.

Biographical / Historical

Asahel Luther Fuller was born 3 July 1852 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Amos Bottsford Fuller and Esther Smith. He married Mary Jane North on 25 March 1872 and Mary E. Herbst on 22 November 1884. He served a mission to the Southern States from 15 February 1887 - 24 November 1888. He was a farmer and construction worker. He died on 6 April 1923.

Custodial History

The typescripts of the journals were donated on 8 December 1997 and 25 June 2001 to BYU Special Collections. The originals are still in possession of the descendants of Asahel Luther Fuller. Dale Fuller Topham (great grandson of Asahel Luther Fuller).

Journal one is in possession of Henry D. Fuller of Pevely, Missouri and Journal two is in possession of Carl Fuller of West Valley, Utah.
