William Davenport letters
Scope and Contents
Handwritten and signed letters mostly from Davenport. Also incluced are letters from the Secretary of War for the United States, Charles Conrad, and various other officials in the Treasury Department of the United States. The items are concerned with Davenport's claim for compensation for expenses incurred as military governor of Matamoros.
