Biographical / Historical

Susan M. Zeller is a first generation convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and composer of Latter-day Saint choral music. She was raised in the Congregational Church in Norwalk, Connecticut. Susan was introduced to the Church through Owen Hamilton of South Royalton, Vermont, in August 1974; she was baptized at the Joseph Smith Memorial Chapel in Rutland, Vermont, on November 17, 1974. She met her future husband, Alfred Zeller (also a first-generation convert, from Vienna, Austria), in the Rutland branch. They were married in 1975 and raised four children. After the death of her husband, she served an LDS mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, from January 2011-July 2012.

Custodial History

Autobiography was written by Susan M. Zeller in November 2012 and sent to the missionaries of the Springville [Utah] ward by email. A copy of the email was sent to the Harold B. Lee Library, postmarked July 31, 2020. The accession process was completed in October 2020.
