Biographical / Historical

Harry H. Buckwalter was born Harry Hale Buckwalter on November 1, 1867 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Andrew Collins Buckwalter and Mary Elizabeth Ritter Buckwalter. He left Pennsylvania for the West in 1884. He married Carrie E. Fuller on July 24, 1889 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He started his career as a printer at the Denver Republican in 1892, then moved on to working as a reporter and photographer at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver. In 1902, he started Buckwalter Films, where he directed and produced short silent films. He continued to work as a photographer and a filmmaker until he died on March 7, 1930.
