Biographical History

Bosley Crowther (1905-1981) was a film critic in New York. He worked primarily for the New York Times.

Bosley Crowther, otherwise known as Francis Bosley Crowther Jr., was born in Lutherville, Baltimore, Maryland, United States on 13 July 1905. He studied at Princeton University in the 1920s. After graduation he took up a job with the New York TImes as a film critic in 1933 when he moved to New York. He married his wife Florence H Marks on 20 January 1933 and they had one child. He died on March 7th 1981 in Mount kISCO, Westchester, New York, United States.
