Steven Hacking Giles (1953-) was the fourth child of Fred and Mary Helen Giles.

Steven Hacking Giles was born on April 29th, 1953 to Fred and Mary Helen Giles in Powell, Wyoming, he was the fourth of five children. He married his wife Gaylene Giles in 1979.

Mary Helen Giles (1914-1982) was the daughter of Joseph and Carrie Hacking ad the wife of Fred Giles.

Mary Helen Giles was born Mary Helen Hacking on December 14th 1914 in Maeser, Utah, to Joseph Pearson Hacking and Carrie Claire Hacking. Mary Helen graduated from Unitah High School in May 1933 and in the fall started attending Dixie College in St. George, Utah. She transferred to Brigham Young University in January 1934 and met Fred Giles that same year. In September 1937 Fred and Mary Helen announced their engagement and were married in the Salt Lake Temple, in Salt Lake City Utah on October 27th 1937. She and Fred had five children together; Joseph Fred Hacking on October 7th 1942; Jeanette Giles on July 25th 1949; Kent Hacking Giles on February 8th 1951; Steven Hacking Giles on April 29th 1953; and Bradley Hacking Giles on June 28th 1956. Throughout their life together Fred and Mary Helen moved around Wyoming and southern Utah depending on Fred's job. From 1978 to 1980 Fred and Mary Helen served a full time mission together in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mary Helen Giles passed away on October 24th 1982.

Fred Nuttall Giles (1913-2010) was the son of Joseph and Clara Giles and the husband of Mary Helen Giles. He was a veteran of World War II and worked for the Government assisting Native Americans farming and canning their produce.

Fred Nuttall Giles was born on December 13th, 1913 to Joseph Francis Giles and Clara Clarkson Giles in Provo, Utah. Fred graduated from Provo High School in May 1932 and started attending Brigham Young University in the fall of 1932. Fred met Mary Helen Hacking in 1934 at Brigham Young University. Fred focused on agriculture in school and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Science from the College of Applied Science in June of 1937, and started working for the Forest Service doing rain surveys. In September 1937 Fred and Mary Helen announced their engagement and were married in the Salt Lake Temple, in Salt Lake City Utah on October 27th 1937. She and Fred had five children together; Joseph Fred Hacking on October 7th 1942; Jeanette Giles on July 25th 1949; Kent Hacking Giles on February 8th 1951; Steven Hacking Giles on April 29th 1953; and Bradley Hacking Giles on June 28th 1956. In 1938 they moved to Arapahoe, Wyoming because Fred had a position in the Indian Service of the Government assisting Native Americans farming and canning their produce. The same year they moved to Powell, Wyoming with Fred also working for the Powell Farm Security Administration. In July 1943 Fred was drafted into the army and served in the 70th Infantry Division, and fighting in the European theater from 1944 to 1945. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and for his service received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was discharged in March 1946 and the family moved back to Powell, Wyoming. In 1947 he became the Superintendent of the University of Wyoming Big Horn Research Station, but quit the following summer in 1948. Fred then began a homesteaded farm in Heart Mountain, Wyoming, where he was instrumental in bringing electrical service to the area, in that role he served on the first board of directors of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association in 1952. In 1963 the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, and then moved again to Riverton, Wyoming in 1966. In 1974 Fred quit his government job and settled down with Mary Helen working for the American National Bank in Riverton. From 1978 to 1980 Fred and Mary Helen served a full time mission together in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mary Helen Giles passed away on October 24th 1982. Fred remarried Virginia Ann Merkely on March 25th 1985. Virginia passed away on February 9th 1998, that same year Fred moved back to Provo to a retirement center called Cove Point. Fred Nuttall Giles passed away on October 10th 2010.
