Harvey Coe Hullinger scrapbook and family history
Scope and Contents
Collection contains a digital copy on a compact disk of a scrapbook and family history related to Harvey Coe Hullinger. The scrapbook dates from 1860 to 1925, and includes mostly typed letters, poetry, prayers, visions, notes on gospel topics, and other items written by or to Hullinger from 1900-1925. Includes letters written on nearly each birthday from the time he turned 90 years old. Also includes a handwritten patriarchal blessing for Hullinger given by John Young, dated 1860. The family history was prepared in 1997 for the Harvey Coe Hullunger family reunion, and includes Hullinger's autobiography and other documents related to him and his descendants. Many items reprinted in the family history are included in the scrapbook. Dated circa 1860-1997, bulk 1900-1925.

Biographical History
Harvey Coe Hullinger (1824-1925) was a doctor and Mormon pioneer in Illinois, Iowa, and Utah.
Harvey Coe Hullinger was born on December 2, 1924 in Mad River Township, Champaign County, Ohio to John and Olive Coe Hullinger. Harvey joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842. He studied medecine at a college in Ohio and received a physician diploma in 1852. After graduation, Harvey lived in Illinois and Iowa before moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1859. With a train of emigrants, Harvey and his family moved from Omaha to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. Havey lived in Mill Creek, St. George and Uintah County during his time in Utah. He served as a soldier in the Civil War in 1862, was a county physician and County Commissioner in Uintah County, and was a friend to the Native Americans to the point of being known as their medecine man.
Harvey married Julia Ann Blose in Mad River Township, Ohio on November 27, 1847 and they had two children. He also married a few other women. On December 22, 1854 he married Mary Etta Woolworth in Clinton, Iowa and they had one child. In Salt Lake City, Utah Harvey married Isabella Rasmuss on April 18, 1863, Harriet Mariah Perring on September 28, 1867, and Christena Peterson on November 22, 1869. Harvey and Christena had six children.
On Januay 29, 1925, being 101 years old, Harvey died in Vernal, Utah.
