Biographical History
Andrew Mortenson, Jr. (1842-1910) was a lumberman, road constructor, ranch hand, and Mormon missionary in early Utah.
Andrew Mortenson, Jr. was born on April 17, 1842, in Croydon, Utah, the eighth child of parents Andrew and Caroline Nicholsen Mortenson. After serving an LDS mission to Tahiti in 1898-1901, he married Valeria Maud Duncan on June 25, 1902, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and together they had 2 children. Mortenson worked for a lumber company, road construction, and a ranch hand.
He contracted pneumonia while working in Idaho and died on January 20, 1910. He is buried in Salt Lake City, Utah, cemetery.
