John Henry Weston (1887-1969) was a Union Pacific Railroad foreman and amateur photographer from Utah.
John Henry Weston was born July 31, 1887 and raised in Moroni, Utah. As a teenager, he moved to Bingham, Utah to begin training as a railroad steam engine mechanic. He spent a short time in Lyndall, Utah, eventually moving to Milford, Utah around 1908 where he became the Union Pacific Railroad "Roundhouse" foreman for the remainder of his life. Milford was the halfway point for the Union Pacific Railroad main track line to Las Vegas and California. The crew changed here, so the town became a railroad hub. He was in charge of railroad engine maintenance and repair for over 40 years. He married Metta Schow on October 2, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Photography was always a major interest to him. There are hundreds of photographs documenting family, community, and events beginning in the early 1900s and continuing throughout his life. As photo equipment improved, so did the quality of his photos. He died December 25, 1969.
John N. Weston (1916-1998) was a Union Pacific Railroad Engineer and amateur photographer from Utah.
John N. (Jack) Weston was born July 8, 1916 to John Henry and Metta Weston. He was raised primarily in Milford, Utah, with a few years spent in Cedar City. He attended college at the Branch Agricultural College (BAC), now known as Southern Utah University. He married Wilma Knell Spetember 1, 1939. He worked as a Union Pacific Railroad Engineer for 44 years, but took photographs as a hobby for his whole life. He died July 31, 1998.
Brad Weston (1943- ) is an amateur photographer from Utah.
J. Brad Weston was born November 26, 1943 to John N. and Wilma Nelson. He was raised in Milford, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University from 1962-1968, receiving B.S. and M.S. degrees in Zoology. He was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. Upon returning from the war, he worked in Utah for 39 years for Berlex Laboratories pharmaceutical companies whose corporate headquarters are based in Germany. He and his wife, Linda, raised four children and continue the family devotion to photography.
