Scope and Contents

Contains pedigrees of the Rosevear, Mark families, and further ancestors. There are photographs of William Rosevear's headstone and other locations in Cornwall, where many of Smith's descendents originated. There are pictures of Smith visiting those places as well as stories of her motivation for doing family history research. Includes small, printed maps of the United Kingdom and southern Utah area, where her ancestors settled. Other documents include information about the family crest, pedigrees (photocopied), a copy of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers calendar of 1996, and a journal called "Beehive History 16: Mining and Materials." All materials dated circa 1990-2012.

Biographical History

Carol Ann (Grose) Smith (b. date unknown) is a Mormon housewife and mother who researches family history.

Carol Ann (Grose) Smith was born (date unknown) to Rowland Thomas Grose and Margery Stock Grose. She was one of two children, with an older brother named Blaine C. Grose. Her mother died in May 1967, and Rowland remarried a woman named Cora Wood in November of that year. Carol Ann herself married Larry Jackson and had three children with him. They then divorced and she remarried a man named Jim Smith. They had another child. Smith studied Human Development & Family Relationships at Weber State University 1957-1959, and Psychology there in 1960. She worked various jobs at Z.C.M.I., McDougal's Realtors, and PacifiCorp/Utah Power & Light. She and her husband also raised Shih Tzu puppies for many years. Now she is retired in Murray, Utah, where she spends her time researching family history.
