The collection contains letters mainly from Eve Ball to Barbara and Kenneth Ogilvie, spanning the years 1972 to 1984. Topics are mostly about life and health updates, though some content discusses Eve's publications and research on Native Americans. Collection also includes envelopes, clippings, and four color slide photographs of Eve Ball's home. Includes an April 1984 newsletter from the Lincoln County Historical Society.

Biographical History

Kenneth Mead Ogilvie was born January 17, 1922, in Texas. He was acquaintance of Eve Ball, who was a leading authority on the lives of the Apache tribe in New Mexico in the mid-20th century. Kenneth Mead Ogilvie was married to Barbara Mackey. He died at the age of 83 on March 16, 2005.

Biographical History

Barbara Mackey Ogilvie was born April 7, 1921. She lived in Arcadia, California, with her husband, Kenneth Mead Ogilvie for 55 years. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in art education, and was an active volunteer in museums and arts in her community. was an acquaintance of Eve Ball, who was a leading authority on the lives of the Apache tribe in New Mexico in the mid-20th century. Kenneth and Barbara worked closely with Eve in her research and interest in the Apache tribespeople. Barbara died October 28, 2005.

Eve Ball, also known as Katherine Evelyn Daly (1890-1984) was a noted oral historian and author. She especially enjoyed working in New Mexico, the Southwest, and with the Apache Indians.
