Scope and Contents note

The Edmund John Robins collection contains original manuscripts of poems and short stories from Edmund John Robins, also known as Ted. The collection dates from 1927-1975. The collection includes Robins' publications, manuscripts, correspondence, and photographs. Also contained are copies of historically significant paintings. Diplomas and certificates are also included. Many publications with the work of Robins are included.

Biographical History

Edmund John Robin was a graduate of the University of Utah and teacher who became the head of the Department of English at Valley College in San Bernardino.

Edmund John Robins (known also as Ted Robins) came to Mexico City College as an occasional student in the early 1950s. He completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Utah and began his teaching career in that state. He returned to complete a Master's degree in Creative Writing and to accept an appointment in the department of English in 1952. He served at Universidad de las Americas for more than 20 years as a teacher of English and as a Director of the Creative Writing Center. His Master's in English was granted by the Unviersity of California in 1930. He then accepted a post as head of the Department of English at Valley College in San Bernardino, California. He died in 1978 in Mexico.
