Biographical History
Leah V. Holt Nelson (1890-1989) was very active in her community as well as in the LDS church.
Leah V. Holt Nelson was born February 3, 1890, in Spanish Fork, UT, to Samuel and Ellen Lewis Holt. She served in the Southern States Mission when she was eighteen. She married Henry Charles Nelson on February 14, 1912, in the Salt Lake Temple. After four short years of marriage, and the births of two daughters, Leah and Dona, Henry died. Leah would never remarry, but would spend the rest of her life working (including thirty-two years of service with the city of Spanish Fork before retiring, serving as the elected city treasurer for two terms and then as a clerk in the city office, serving under twelve mayors). She was a mother and father to her two daughters, served the church in many capacities, and was a dear friend. She died October 11, 1989.
