Frands Peter Peterson mission diary
Scope and Contents note
Frands Peter Peterson was called to leave his wife and family through John Taylor to serve a mission to the United States in 1885. His journal includes an interesting description of Jesus Christ by a Governor of Judea named Publicus Centulus. At a conference, he is assigned to serve in northwestern Minnesota. He boards with and teaches many German families. The cold is intense during the winter months. He teaches, baptizes and blesses babies (recording birth dates and parents’ names of each child). The last few pages of the diary include home remedies. There are also statistical reports of the Minnesota and Indiana Conferences, elder’s names and financial records. 225 pages in a 5 by 8 inch leather book.
