Identifier: MSS 4154

Scope and Contents note

George W. Tripp’s Research Bulletin contains the following: 1) Pioneer histories of Tooele settlers. 2) Brigham Young University General Catalogs (1992-1993 and 1993-1994). 3) A biography, with pictures and correspondence, of Wilford J. Winch (1884-1968). 4) Eight volumes of Early Tooele: A Documented Chronology, covering the years 1849-1890. Index and research notes. 5) A biography, with researched related articles and correspondence, of John Rowberry (1823-1884). The biographies in this collection are packed with entertaining stories. For example, John Rowberry was a judge in Tooele, Utah. A man who had committed a minor infraction of the law was sentenced to cut and deliver wood for a widow. The man fell in love with the widow and married her, with Judge Rowberry officiating (he was both bishop and judge at the time).
