Diary begins while Robinson was serving on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Princeton, North Carolina. The diary covers November 15, 1897 to April 1908. At one point, while preaching to a congregation, Robinson feels inspired to joke. That pleases the audience and gave them kind feelings toward the Church. At another point, he preaches for a long time and records, [N]o matter how indifferent or cold they are at first, they are bound to be melted down if we preach long enough to get down into their hearts. Robinson writes about Spencer W. Kimball’s snake dream, and dreams an investigator named Mrs. Hales had. He writes about the fates of mob leaders who attacked missionaries in Florida. Special spiritual experiences occur, including the speaking of tongues and miraculous healings. Amazing success happens; in Robinson’s words About 90 Saints in Wayne Co, and the first person was baptized about two years ago.

On July 4, 1898, Robinson has a farewell conference but tickets are delayed for several weeks. He returns to Utah and speaks at different cities; he is a great orator and receives many compliments. He researches English literature (friends tease him for not continuing to pursue law). He attends the University of Utah from 1894-5, then works in a brick yard. At some point, he serves a mission to Arizona.
