Scope and Contents
The first part contains genealogical records for the family of John H. Hayes, spanning the dates 1604-1958. The second part is John H Hayes' autobiography and covers his birth until the year 1924. The third part is entitled, "Bradford Lane History," which was written by John Stoker Davis, who was nephew of Hayes’ wife, Ruth Elizabeth Davis.

John H. Hayes was born in England on April 18, 1853. He emigrated to the state of Utah ten years later and eventually settled in Spanish Fork, Utah.
John H. Hayes was born on April 18, 1853 to John Hayes and Damaris Parkin in Claycross, Derbyshire, England. He left England with Brother and Sister Edward Morris on May 29, 1863 for the State of Utah to join the body of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He walked the entire distance from Florence, Nebraska to Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Ruth Elizabeth Davis on April 28, 1873 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. They had twelve children. He also married Annie McLean on July 12, 1883 in Salt Lake City. He was an earnest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for said church in England. He died April 6, 1938 in Spanish Fork, Utah and was buried on April 9, 1938.
