Administrative history

The Cliff House in San Francisco has been a popular tourist attraction since it was first built in the late 1800s. Four variations of the house have been built in the same spot. The fourth variation is still standing today. It generally served as a popular dining establishment and dance hall. It overlooks the Seal Rocks and provides a great view of the coast and San Francisco from any window.
