Biographical History

Jerry C. Straus (b. 1936) founded the law firm Hobbs, Straus, Dean and Walker. He also served two years in the Appellate Section in the Department of Justice's Civil Division.

Jerry C. Straus earned his B.A. degree from Columbia University in 1958 and his LL.B. from Columbia University Law School in 1961. After graduating from law school, he was selected for the Attorney General's Honors Program at the Department of Justice, and served two years in the Appellate Section of the Department's Civil Division before joining the firm of Wilkinson, Cragun & Barker in 1963. He acted as an attorney for the Shoshone Indians. With Charles Hobbs and Bobo Dean, he co-founded the firm Hobbs, Straus, Dean and Walker in 1982.
