Scope and Contents

Collection consists of four missionary journals and two missionary report books, kept while Calvin was serving in the Southwestern States Mission from May 1899 to July 1901. Also includes one transcript of the journals by Alan C. Chandler, and two digital reproductions of photographs. The photographs are of the Southwestern States Missionaries, ca. 1900, and of Elder Chandler with an unidentified couple somewhere in Texas.

Biographical History

Calvin Harris Chandler was born July 16, 1877 in Granite, Utah, to Calvin Harris Chandler Sr. and Elizabeth Treseder. Was raised in North Ogden. Married Della Luella Shaw on December 4, 1901. Died and was buried in North Ogden on January 20, 1940.
