Biographical / Historical

Edwin Nelson Ferdon Jr. (1913 June 14- ) is a notable ethnologist noted for his studies of the peoples of Polynesia and the Americas. He earned his bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico, and a masters from the University of Southern California. He worked as a museum curator, researcher, and associate director in Southwestern cultural heritage institutions, retiring in 1983 from the Arizona State Museum, University of Arizona.

These slides and negatives were taken by Edwin Ferdon who donated them to John Clark of the New World Archaeology Department. Fred Nelson, also from the Department, brought them in to Special Collections.
