Collection of Mormon folklore during the COVID-19 pandemic
Scope and Contents
Contains interviews conducted by or under the direction of Christine Elyse Blythe with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as some members of the broader Mormon diaspora, about their experiences, beliefs, customs and material lore during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the items are audio recordings and associated transcriptions, but several physical items such as masks and sacramento trays, as well as digital images and photographs, are also included within the collection. Dated from March to November 2020.

Collection of folklore on home church during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 March-September. 3. Collection of Latter-day Saint folklore during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 March-July. 4. Collection of Latter-day Saint material folklore during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 June-September.
Two additional interviews from outside the Mormon diasporic community are included at the end of the series listing.
Custodial History
The Mormon Covid-19 folklore collection was started in 2020 by archivist Christine Elyse Blythe to capture the stories of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as some members of the broader Mormon diaspora during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Several Brigham Young University students who were employed in Special Collections assisted in the proliferation of the collection. The collection was created for the purpose of accession into the Wilson Folklore Archives and was transmitted in a single installment.
