General Note

Note on verso: "Blocks of granite in Cottonwood Canyon split out by early Mormons to build the Salt Lake Temple and hauled 16 miles by ox team. The wedge marks were cut and filled with wooden pegs on which water was poured until the swelling split the granite. So well designed and cut was the material that the saw and hammer were not used at the Temple."
