Scope and Contents
Submitted by BYU student Cynthia-Mar Thomas for her Winter 1974 English 391 class. About the life and folklore of Benjamin Pace Sorenson, the collector's uncle. Contains a cover essay, autobiographical sketch, biographical sketch, and various informant items. Items include folk beliefs such as waterwitching, legends and customs such as a White Boy Stolen by the Indians, Where the Indians camped, folk foods borrowed from the Indians such as Yant and seeds, various recipes, anecdotes such as Convicting polygamists, taking a cat to the dance, making our own wine, playing hooky and a big fish story, and much more. Contains many photographs of places and people relevant to the project.
