Scope and Contents

Submitted by BYU student Bekeley Kershisnik about how construction work becomes a way of life for those performing it, as well as construction worker's coping strategies and inside culture. Contains a cover essay, autobiographical sketch, and informants descriptions of rituals they (construction workers) do, such as putting a "flag of love" up on the highest gable of a frame they made, the "anchense" and "inchinchulu" units of measurement, nicknames given to other workers or common pieces of equipment, construction ideology, and jokes. Created for Fall 2007 English 391 class for Prof. Jill Rudy.
