Scope and Contents note
This project describes the Burns night supper and the folklore surrounding it. The analysis comments on how the Burns supper establishes the legend of Robert Burns and reinforces Scottish identity as a group. It also contains information regarding the typical order of the program for a Burns supper, including the poetry and toasts that are read. It also includes scanned images of the food typically eaten at a Burns supper, as well as photos of typical costume, table layouts, and centerpieces. DVD contains video files of parts of Burns night. Collected by Drew Hausen, Dr. Eliason's ENGL 392 class, Winter 2009.
