Scope and Contents note

This project is a collection of Bulgarian proverbs. The analysis discusses the central role that proverbs play in Bulgaria, claiming that proverbs can be used to settle arguments by properly applying proverbs as a source of wisdom. Also claims that proverbs show the platitudes of wisdom based on Bulgaria's long journey and history. Also gives brief historical background to Bulgaria, as well as describing Bulgaria's poetry and literature, and relates this history to proverbs. Includes a collection of the Bulgarian proverbs in Bulgarian, and a rough translation. Collected by Chad E. Luke, Deirdre Paulsen's ENGL 391 class, Fall 2005.
