Scope and Contents note
This project is a collection of stories about working beyond what was expected in the job description. The analysis discusses how workers are often put in awkward or outrageous dilemmas in doing their job. Also comments on the role of humor in work, and the psychological benefits of sharing stories. Stories collected include: Working through the pain, curiosity gets me stuck, dealing with problems at Sketchers, Jalapeno can cuts boss' hand, Irish accent lands me in a pickle, rectal tube adventure, surprise on a paramedic call, potato factory, challenges working with the elderly, hair salon customer trouble, more than meets the eye waiting tables, and unintended consequences at the State Hospital. Collected by Kryn Anderson, Dr. Thursby's ENGL 391 class, Winter 2009.
