This project is a collection of stories about Getsy Edna Ball Smithey, who is the collector's great-grandmother. The analysis discusses the importance of her stories in the family. Discusses her childhood in North Carolina, her family's conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, childhood memories, growing up in the mountains, marriage, her children, surviving a flood, and recipes. Items collected come from family members and their memories of Getsy Smithey, including interviews with Getsy Smith about her life. Collected items include: sittin' up with people, having children, the '40 flood, moonshine, chicken salad puffs recipe, living on a farm, and several others. Collected by Audrey Smithey, Dr. Thursby's ENGL 356 class, Fall 2008.
