The Latter-day saint concept of "baby hunger" / Bethany Moore, 2008
Scope and Contents note
This project is a collection of Latter-day Saints' concept of baby hunger, or the desire of a married couple's strong desire for children. The analysis discusses how modern culture pushes for women competing with men in the workplace, and that some career women yearn for children and family the same way that infertile women did in the past. Overviews Mormon doctrine on the family, the symptoms of baby hunger, who experiences it, at what age do people begin feeling baby hunger, and why Mormon women are prone to feeling baby hungry. Includes interviews and letters from Mormon women who have experienced baby hunger. Collected by Bethany Moore, Dr. Thursby's ENGL 356 class, Fall 2008.
