Scope and Contents note

A collection of the superstitions involved in the sport of baseball. The rituals performed in baseball are believed to influence the outcome of the game and are strictly followed. The superstitions collected were from the head coach and various members of the Brigham Young University baseball team. The superstitions collected include: breakfast, putting on the uniform, third base, an entire day, a shower, emu oil, warming up, at bat, the white line, between innings, the national anthem, pitching, and keys. Collected by Teri Dillon, Dr. Jacqueline Thursby's ENGL 356 class, Winter 2008.
