Can I laugh at that in church? : folklore of the LDS church meeting / Erica Tanner, 2008
Scope and Contents note
A collection of narratives about awkward events that happened in meetings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The "perpetrators", or people who cause the discomfort, are often children, people with mental disabilities, teenagers, crazy people, normal people, and investigators of the church. What makes an event awkward is that there is a perpetrator that brings up certain taboo subjects that break the folk laws of the church. Some of the stories collected were from New Jersey, Colorado, Mexico, and Arizona. Collected by Erica Tanner, Dr. Eric Eliason's ENGL 391 class, Winter 2008.
