Also includes a letter written by his commanding officer notifying McAllister's parents that their son's plane had been shot down over the ocean. The letter details his service as a Marine and gives examples of his leadership and bravery. Photographs show McAllister in military dress and standing next to his training airplane. Dated 1943-1944.
