Missionary practical jokes : a fieldwork collection / Matt Shields, 2002 April 12
Scope and Contents note
Shields focuses his research on practical jokes that missionaries play on one another while serving The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shields explores reasons why missionaries choose to play practical jokes on one another, and how practical jokes become an expression of folklore unique to missionary culture. Shield's collection of folklore comes from missionaries serving all over the world. Created by Matt Shields when he was enrolled in Jacqueline Thursby's English 391 class in winter 2002.
