Bedtime traditions : sharing time / Joy Tang, 2003 April 2
Scope and Contents note
Discusses various bedtime traditions involving parents and children. Explains that it does not matter what the specific tradition is as long as the elements of time and presence are involved. Describes sleep as a time of separation from family members or loved ones. Discusses how rituals can function as a memory aid and explains that bedtime rituals forge memories and solidify relationships. Items are divided into two sections: child's perspective and parental perspective. Created by Joy Tang while she was enrolled in Jill Terry Rudy's English 391 class during Winter Semester 2003.
