Materials contain a memoir of Stephanie Hatton-Ward regarding her service as a nurse in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War in 1990. Discusses her decision to be a nurse, her education, and then going into the ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps). Talks about being mobilized to Italy for three weeks and then transferred to Frankfurt, Germany for the duration of the war. Mentions that the only casualty from the war that she worked with was a man who had been hit by shrapnel in Kuwait. Briefly reflects on the positive and negative aspects of serving in the military. Donated to the Nurses at War Project. Dated September 3, 2004.
