Arr Pirate jokes : a folklore collection / by Lara Ellertson, 2005 April 10

 Item — Box: 268, Folder: 10
Identifier: FA 1 Item 2990

Scope and Contents note

Ellertson collects pirate jokes from her immediate family members. She believes that people tell pirate jokes to romanticize what is actually a horrific and illegal practice. She also suggests that putting pirates in modern contexts produces humor due to the incongruity of the joke situation. Created by Laura Ellerston when she was enrolled in Eric Eliason's English 391 course in Winter 2005.
