Contains a memoir of Jean Comlish regarding her military experiences while serving in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during Operation Provide Promise and the Iraq War from 1990 to 2003. Talks about being stationed in Croatia with Fleet Hospital 6 as a part of the United Nations effort, called Operation Provide Promise. Describes the condition and capabilities of the hospital and its facilities and describes the responsibilities of the different medics. Talks about the language and communication barriers and also talks about taking care of any patients who could get through security to the medics. Also talks about cultural challenges and the different technologies she had to familiarize herself with, discusses her emotions in taking care of so many casualties and the importance of teamwork. Donated to the Nurses at War Project. Dated approximately 2003.
