Materials contain an interview with Lt. Col. David I. Folkman, Jr. regarding his service in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. Folkman describes his Cadet Pilot Training in Waco, Texas, and his ROTC activity at BYU. Recounts how, between Air Force assignments, he returned to Utah where he finished a Masters degree and then Ph. D. at the University of Utah. Describes his work assessing the evaluation of air support, and afterwards getting assigned to the 47th Squadron at the Bien Hua Air Base. The account describes experiences with the 47th Squadron, including a time when he escaped being captured. Also includes his thoughts on the politics and ethics of Vietnam. Dated March 22, 1988.
