Caption on item: "Weighing nails – Fibre boxes of nails are conveyorized from the rumbler machines to a weighing stand. Ulysses Robinson is shown concentrating on the weighing scale in Columbia Steel Company’s Nail Mill at Pittsburg, Calif. He is adding nails to make the fibre box container conform with the 100 net pounds listed on the label bearing the United States Steel insignia. The scale is “under-over” type, and the weigher brings the arrow to dead center."
