Materials contain a transcribed interview with Dexter Wilberg discussing his service in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II from 1943-1945. Wilberg talks about signing up for the Merchant Marines, marrying his childhood sweetheart, and training on Catalina Island. Also talks about his assignments on the different ships. Describes the activities they participated in, the food they ate, attending Latter-Day Saint church services, and traveling to different Pacific islands. Finally talks about serving a mission later in life along with other Church callings. Includes a cassette tape of the interview. Also contains a photocopied article titled "Our Merchant Marine" from George Washington University. Dated October 17, 2001, June 1945.
